Finding beauty in the ordinary.
Hello! We thank you for stopping by Two Birds. We are Monique Greer and Renee Silberman - two self-taught creatives who are inspired by nature every day. From the mountains to the sea, we bring our experiences, appreciation for all creatures, and commitment to using recycled materials to the creative process.
Many materials used in our mixed media beach art come from Mother Nature herself. A special shell, smooth sea glass, and a piece of driftwood can be transformed into a unique framed scene or whimsical hanging sculpture. We often use acrylic or watercolor paint, along with sea glass, recycled wire, vintage beads, scraps of worn pottery, and other objects found along the way to create one-of-a-kind works of art.
A little about us.
Monique spends time between Three Tree Point in Burien (south of Seattle) and Boulder, CO. She combs the beaches and her collection of special shells, stones, and driftwood to create shadowboxes, sun catchers, and wall hangings - and myriad one-off designs that come to mind. Monique also paints with acrylic on wood and canvas and likes to have fun with mixed media collage. She is always willing to sketch and paint dog portraits using watercolor and ink.
Renee spends her time between Three Tree Point in Burien and Phoenix, AZ. She assembles natural sea glass, stones, and branches to portray whimsical scenes with sea birds, fish, and sailboats. She works with clay to form magical owls, dragonflies, and other pieces to create beautiful hanging totems, planters and designs for the garden. Fused glass is another medium Renee enjoys to create adorable, colorful birds on stakes for the garden.
Checkout our work and drop us a line if there is something you like or are curious about. We will get back to you as quick as an osprey diving headlong into Puget Sound for the catch of the day!
